Even though this is a very trying period of my life there is something that assures me everything is going to be ok.
Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
I am holding on to the promises God has given me. IF we have a relationship with Jesus then He speaks to us (see John 10). He comforts us in our storms. If we are called according to His purpose, then it WILL work for good!
We have peace from the Prince of Peace.
Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
God anointed David to be king and the very next chapter he has to fight Goliath (see 1Sam 16 & 17)! Do you not see that the call on David’s life was jointly with the Peace, Assurance, and Faith required to fulfill God‘s purpose? Think about all the trials David went through!
David went through trials and tribulations for 40 years and sought God in every one of them. While people were right outside David’s cave intent on killing him, David decides to write a psalm. He worshipped and sought the Spirit of God in his tribulation. We should learn from him. In trouble David ran to God and not away from Him. He didn’t seek a secular solution.
Hold on to the promises He has given you. It’s called Faith. If the odds weren’t stacked highly against you we couldn’t call it faith and God’s providence would be relegated to mere chance.
So right now is not the time to run from God, but to Him.
He has His arms open wide.
