Radical Christian - Paul Washer

The following video is an excerpt of Paul Washer preaching.

Paul Washer is known for emphasizing the "Lordship" doctrine.

Paul Washer doesn't bathe you in the comfort of the bible chopping sloppy grace teachings but highlights scriptures most churches choose to ignore. (i.e. Matthew 7:13-14; Hebrews 12:14 ; Matthew 7:21-23; Luke 14:26-27; Revelations 3:13-19;  John 12:25; Psalm 119:160)

These scriptures are in the bible and they cannot be ignored.  .  We don't have the luxury of picking and choosing which scriptures to believe and which ones to reject.  If we confess the Word of God to be true, then we can't just throw out the parts we don't like.  This means willfully rejecting God's Word.

The lame stream churches are emphasizing the sloppy grace doctrine and ignoring the Lordship teachings.  This will lead to a rude awakening on Judgement Day.

Watch this video excerpt and notice the sincerity Paul Washer get's through to the congregation.

  1. If by "Lordship" and "this will lead to a rude awakening on judgement day" you mean Lordship is a requirement for salvation, Jesus said no such thing. From John to Acts to Romans, the plan of salvation is crystal clear. Lordship Salvation is just another works-based plan of salvation that has infiltrated churches and, more specifically, Calvinist teachings.

The Lordship verses in the Bible are important, no doubt. But once you add that to the requirements of salvation, it's no longer by grace that we're saved, but by how we live our lives. No one, and I mean no one, puts God in a total Lordship position every waking hour of every day. That begs the question: how much Lordship is enough to be saved?

  2. Incredible video and very inspiring. Most Christians today do not live radically and we would do well to acknowledge that.
But, to join the debate, aren't we confusing salvation with living for Christ? Salvation is undeniably through grace:
    Ephesians 2:8-9 (HCSB)
8 For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift— 9 not from works, so that no one can boast.
Living for Chris is the effect of the Holy Spirit after we are saved (and it's not automatic, I think that's where Free Will vs God's Will mostly comes into play):
    Matthew 7:21-23 (HCSB)
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, drive out demons in Your name, and do many miracles in Your name?’ 23 Then I will announce to them, ‘I never knew you! Depart from Me, you lawbreakers!’
So either a) the Bible contradicts itself (you can't be saved by faith *and* be required to do good works) or b) we just don't really understand (seems likely) or c) we're saved by grace and show fruit by living in God's Will so the verses are talking about two different things (technically Salvation and Sanctification in Bible speak).
On earth in our limited knowledge with our weak hearts with their tendency towards petty and divisive attitudes, (IMHO) we Christ Followers have to give each other the benefit of the doubt and let God sort it out in Heaven.

  3. Anonymous makes some good points. Washer brings passion and intensity in his sincerity but I cant help but sense that he is putting a yolk on his audiences in many of his messages. Guilt is not a motivator love is. Plus I think most who struggle with putting Christ as Lord is more of a maturity thing not a salvation issue.

What does he imagine the 3rd world or 10/40 World to become I wonder? Hopefully not Bible thumping people in suits fanatic about all things CHRISTIAN.

  5. Belíssima postagem!! O mensagem do vídeo é maravilhosa.

  6. This guy is awesome & will surely hear well done my good & faithful servant. Just as Jesus said, we will be persecuted for following & carrying out His will. His last command wasn't for us to all sit around in a pool of oozing love whispering sweet nothings to each other, it was to go & spread the Word & make disciples. Yes we are saved by grace, but the grace that saves us produces fruit, fruit which many don't understand because they don't have or want the full package. They just want to be saved & live the rest of their life in peace...it is the same reason the once saved always saved argument is still around. If you search for me with all your heart you will find me. Jeremiah 29:13.
When God becomes the most important thing in your life, your salvation & what it is made up of is no longer a question to you or anyone around you.

  7. That's what it takes. Absolute surrender. It's scary to let go of this world for God's love. I came to Jesus, balling, clutching, and utterly terrified of God's blessings.

It's so simple and when you realize that you chose not to walk through the door this whole time, you are ashamed that it took so long. But Jesus is forgiving and loves you and will take you under his wing if you just confess your sins and give your life to Him.

Thanks to Jesus, for knocking. He is my personal Savior.
