Believing for your Miracle

I was struggling last night with how to put this into a tweet.  I think it might not be able to be captured in 140 characters, so here goes a short attempt at blogging, although i feel a podcast coming up :)

We make a choice to believe the devil or believe what God says.  In order to receive a miracle, we have to believe that it is possible and stop leaning to our own understanding.

Miracles, by their very nature, are something out of the ordinary.  If they were common everyday occurrences they wouldn’t be called miracles.  Right off the bat, we have a hard time believing that miracles occur simply because it defies our understanding of how things work.

We read about miracles in the bible and sometimes we even see them happen right in front of us.   But then we think that it will never happen to us - for whatever reason.  This is a lie from the devil.  His job is to sow doubt and unbelief just like he always does.  Satan wiggled his way in with Eve against the word of God and he even tried it later with Jesus.

I talk a lot about blasting presuppositions in my podcasts.  We need to blast our presuppositions when we need a miracle.  We need to trade in those old mindsets for the new mindset of Christ.

So, if we need a miracle, the first thing is to believe they are possible. Then believe what God said.

Meditate on these verses and seek the Spirit of Truth in relationship to the breakthrough you have been seeking God for.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Proverbs 3:5-6  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  (6)  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Mark 6:5  And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

Mark 5:34  And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Luke 17:19  And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

Luke 18:42-43  And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.  (43)  And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.
