Doing the Word

There was a question on Reddit today.

Something about, "How often do people approach you about Jesus?"

I sat back in my chair and realized something awful.

I live in Houston.  It is *FILLED* with churches.   There are streets on this town with four and sometimes six churches on the same street!

But you know what?  I haven't been approached about Jesus in a very long time.

This city may be full of theology but short on do-ology!

Let's encourage each other in the prophetic community to step out of our comfort zone for Jesus.

If we don't have a word of knowledge, or a word of wisdom, we can at least give a word of encouragement to a stranger and steer that conversation towards Jesus.

One of my techniques is that if i see a person wear a cross... i ask them if they know of any good churches.  Hey,  They ARE wearing a cross right?  So in a sense, they initiated the conversation!  lol

Do you have some witty and interesting ways to share the gospel?

James 1:22  But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Comment below!  I want to know!

  1. Wow, Conrad, that's good. I too, live in a community with churches on every corner. There are lots of good religious people here, but never have I been asked by a stranger if I know Jesus. I think the assumption is, because we live in a religious community, most here are Christians. Sadly, most here are "religious" and don't really know Jesus at all, or the freedom they can have in Him.

I love your conversation starter. I'm going to try that!

  2. :)
Kathy, the reason i do that is that people wear crosses as jewelry.

It works really well when someone is working and wearing it. Like the check out person in the grocery line. ha.. they have to respond and be nice. Once you have struck up a conversation with them the first time, the door is open for conversations after that. Maybe even seek out their line for check out!

    Many blessings!
