Walking in Freedom: Amy Riordan's Powerful Testimony of Transformation

 Amy's Spiritual Transformation in Jesus

Today I have the immense privilege of sharing a truly inspiring story of transformation and freedom. In a recent episode, I had the honor of interviewing Amy Riordan from Walking in Freedom Net. Amy's journey is a powerful testament to the healing power of Jesus Christ, and I felt it was crucial to bring her message to you in written form so it can reach even more hearts.

Amy bravely shared her testimony of overcoming same-sex attraction and pornography. Her passion is to see people's hearts healed and set free as they walk in an intimate relationship with Jesus. God has done an incredible work in Amy's life, and her desire is to see others experience that same freedom and embrace who God created and redeemed them to be.

A Journey from Church Attendance to Intimate Relationship with Jesus

Amy grew up in the church, attending services every Sunday. However, like many, she didn't initially grasp the concept of a personal relationship with God. It felt more like God was an observer, judging her actions as right or wrong. This distant perception kept her from experiencing the true intimacy that God desires with each of us.

At the age of 18, Amy's life took an unexpected turn. She developed a deep emotional connection with a close friend, which eventually led to confusing and unwanted same-sex attractions. These feelings manifested in dreams and desires that were completely foreign to her previous experiences. Having always been attracted to boys, this new reality was unsettling and isolating. She kept these feelings to herself, unsure of who to confide in.

Looking back, Amy recognizes the hand of the enemy in those early experiences, sowing seeds of confusion and leading her and her friend down a path neither of them truly desired. Neither Amy nor her friend understood the spiritual battle they were facing and the power of deception. They eventually entered into a relationship that lasted for a couple of years until distance separated them.

The Brokenness and the Search for Fulfillment

The end of that relationship left Amy with a profound sense of brokenness. She had found a closeness and connection with her friend that she had never experienced before, leading her to believe that such intimacy could only be found with another woman. This was a long time ago, in the 90s, when these topics were rarely discussed openly. Amy tried to return to what she thought was "normal," dating boys, but the underlying feelings and desires lingered.

Over the years, these thoughts grew, and Amy found herself fantasizing about being with another woman. She eventually married her husband, whom she loved and was attracted to, hoping that marriage would somehow erase these unwanted feelings. However, instead of disappearing, these attractions intensified.

A Turning Point and the Trap of Pornography

Before meeting her husband, Amy had given her life to Jesus and experienced significant positive changes. Yet, the struggle with same-sex attraction persisted. She felt unable to talk to God about these feelings, believing He wouldn't want to hear about them. She tried to suppress them, hoping they would eventually fade away.

After getting married and having her first child, Amy went through postpartum depression and a period of significant emotional turmoil. Having always suppressed her feelings and avoided dealing with past hurts, everything began to surface. It was during this vulnerable time that she turned to pornography online, initially lesbian pornography, to explore the thoughts and desires she had been battling.

Despite having a relationship with Jesus, Amy felt trapped. She was consumed by shame and fear, unsure of how to tell her husband or anyone else. The lie that "Christian women don't do this" kept her silent and isolated.

The Courage to Confide and the Beginning of Healing

Finally, one day, the Holy Spirit prompted Amy to tell her husband the truth. It was a terrifying step, but she knew she had to be honest. Unable to speak the words, she wrote him a letter, confessing her struggle with pornography, specifically lesbian pornography.

This act of confession was the catalyst for profound healing, not only in her marriage but also in her heart. It opened the door for God to begin addressing the deeper issues that were fueling her struggles.

Seeking God First: The Key to True Freedom

Initially, Amy focused all her energy on trying to make the same-sex attractions disappear. She prayed fervently, believing that she needed to "fix" herself. However, she realized that by focusing solely on the attraction, it became the center of her life, inadvertently giving it more power.

God gently revealed to her the truth of Matthew 6:33: "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Amy realized she had been seeking healing and freedom first, instead of seeking an intimate relationship with Jesus.

As she shifted her focus to seeking God first, He began to reveal the deeper wounds in her heart – anger, unforgiveness, and pride. He lovingly showed her these areas that needed healing, things she had previously overlooked.

Intimacy with God: Filling the Deepest Longing

Amy came to understand that what she was truly craving was intimacy, not necessarily with another woman, but a deep connection. God revealed that He could fill that need in a holy way. This concept was initially confusing, as she had always equated intimacy with sex. However, through seeking God and learning to communicate openly with Him about her struggles, she discovered a profound and fulfilling intimacy with her Creator.

She encourages others facing similar challenges to talk to God openly and honestly about their temptations and desires. By acknowledging these feelings and asking God to fill those needs in a holy way, we allow Him to work in our lives and show us His perfect love and fulfillment.

Temptation is Not Sin: Choosing Our Response

Amy also gained a crucial understanding about temptation. She realized that temptation itself is not sin. Even Jesus was tempted. The key lies in how we respond to those temptations. She had often felt immediate guilt and shame simply for experiencing same-sex attractions. God showed her that it's our choices and actions in response to temptation that truly matter.

She beautifully illustrated this with the analogy of birds flying overhead – we can't stop the thoughts from coming, but we can prevent them from building a nest in our minds. This understanding brought her immense freedom from unnecessary guilt and shame.

The Importance of Sharing and Accountability

Amy strongly emphasizes the importance of telling someone about your struggles. It was the most terrifying thing she had ever done, but it was also the most crucial step towards freedom. Shame thrives in secrecy and darkness. By bringing our struggles into the light and sharing them with a trusted individual, we break the power of isolation and allow others to support and pray for us.

For those who don't have someone they feel safe confiding in, Amy encourages praying for God to bring that person into their lives. Finding someone to entrust with your struggles is a vital step in breaking free from any stronghold.

Loving and Accepting Others: Pointing Them to Jesus

When asked how Christians should respond to individuals experiencing same-sex attraction, Amy's answer is clear: love them. Treat them with the same kindness and respect you would anyone else. Get to know them without an agenda, building genuine relationships.

Ultimately, our role is to point everyone, regardless of their struggles, to Jesus. He is the one who heals and transforms hearts. Amy shared a powerful quote: "The opposite of homosexuality is not heterosexuality, it's holiness." This profound statement highlights that our focus should be on pursuing a life of holiness and intimacy with God, which is a journey for all of us.

It's easy to fall into the trap of trying to "fix" others or beat them over the head with the Bible. However, we must remember that we all have our own struggles and sins to contend with. True love involves recognizing our shared humanity and pointing each other towards the ultimate source of healing and freedom.

Focusing on Our Own Hearts First

Amy's journey has taught her the importance of looking inward first. While it's easy to see the struggles of others, we must examine our own hearts and identify any hidden sins or areas where we need to repent and grow. God has used this area of her life to teach her to look at her own heart and pursue holiness in all areas.

Resources for Walking in Freedom

Amy has created a wonderful online resource at WalkingInFreedom.Net. Her website offers an "About Me" page where you can learn more about her journey and a valuable "Resources" page. This page includes links to books and tools like Covenant Eyes, which can be incredibly helpful for those struggling with pornography or same-sex attraction.

Amy understands that finding safe and reliable resources online can be challenging, especially when dealing with sensitive topics. Her aim is to provide a curated list of resources that she has found helpful in her own life and that are led by individuals with a similar heart for ministry.

Amy closed our interview with a powerful prayer for those struggling with same-sex attraction and pornography:

My Final Thoughts: Dig Deeper, Go Higher

Amy's testimony is a powerful reminder that no matter what struggles we face, true freedom and healing can be found in an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Her vulnerability and honesty are incredibly inspiring, and I pray that her story touches many lives.

I encourage you to visit Amy's website at Walking in Freedom Net to learn more about her ministry and the resources she offers. If you found this blog post encouraging, please share it with your friends and family through email and social media.

Kevin Riordan on Healing and Equipping the Saints

Uncovering the Secrets of Street Healing with Kevin Riordan

Boy oh boy, do I have an exciting one for you today! You know my passion – it’s all about igniting that fire for Jesus, stoking the flames of revival in our hearts and communities. And in this latest installment of Coffee with Conrad, I had the absolute pleasure of chatting with a truly inspiring individual, Kevin Riordan.

I stumbled upon Kevin’s ministry through a series of divine connections on social media, starting with a tweet that led me to Jay from Strategic Fathering Ministries. Jay, recognizing our shared passion, insisted I connect with Kevin. Let me tell you, after scrolling through Kevin’s Facebook timeline, I was completely hooked. This man is doing the very thing we are called to do – equipping believers for the work of the ministry! As a healing evangelist, Kevin is on the front lines, demonstrating the power of Jesus in a tangible way.

I’m not exaggerating when I say this conversation is going to blow your socks off! So grab your coffee, settle in, and get ready to be incredibly encouraged and challenged. You’re going to want to bookmark this, share it with your friends and family, because the message Kevin shares is something the world desperately needs to hear.

Diving Deep with Kevin Riordan: A Healing Evangelist's Journey

I was absolutely thrilled to finally connect with Kevin via Skype. From the moment we started talking, his genuine heart for Jesus and his passion for people were evident. I jumped right in, asking him to share what he does and, more importantly, why he does it.

Kevin’s story is powerful. He openly shared his past struggles, a time when he was broken, suicidal, and filled with self-hatred. He even spent time in a psychiatric ward. But then, Jesus stepped into his life and, in his words, “changed me… like really in the blink of an eye.” The night he was saved, he experienced deliverance from so much and was instantly filled with love and a burning desire to tell others about Jesus.

Sixteen years ago, with no formal training or deep biblical knowledge beyond the love of Christ he had encountered, Kevin started sharing his faith on the streets of Poughkeepsie, New York. This raw, authentic encounter with the supernatural power of God fueled a lifelong mission. Over time, the Lord added a healing gift to his ministry. Now, Kevin ministers everywhere he goes – grocery stores, lines, you name it. He strikes up conversations, asks people if they’re experiencing any pain, offers to pray, and God heals them. This opens the door to share the Gospel, and Kevin has seen countless people come to faith through these encounters. It's a testament to the fact that God knew exactly what He was doing when He sent **Jesus** to heal the sick.

The Genesis of a Healing Ministry: Prophecy and a Broken Knee

I was particularly interested in how Kevin’s healing ministry began. He shared a fascinating story about a prophecy spoken over him as a child by a Honduran pastor visiting his church. The pastor declared that Kevin would have a power ministry. Even during his years away from Christ, those words lingered, a “rope tied around my waist,” a reminder that God had a plan for him.

When Kevin returned to Christ, he heard the same prophetic word repeated by different people. He began to earnestly seek God for this, longing to see the promise fulfilled. The turning point came at a conference focused on equipping believers for evangelism. After being prayed for, Kevin experienced a shift.

He recounted the first significant healing he witnessed after this impartation. He was at a work meeting with a man named Vince who had a shattered kneecap for eight years. Vince was in immense pain, had recently lost his wife, and was struggling to care for his son. Kevin, his heart filled with compassion, felt compelled to offer prayer.

What happened next was nothing short of miraculous. As Kevin laid hands on Vince’s knee and commanded it to be healed in the name of Jesus, he could physically feel the knee moving and popping. Vince, who hadn't been able to put weight on his leg, stood up and started jumping! This tangible demonstration of God’s power opened the door for Kevin to share the Gospel with Vince, who, despite initial skepticism, accepted Christ as his Savior. This experience ignited a fire in Kevin, leading to countless other **healings**.

The Gift of Healing: For the Few or For All?

This naturally led us to the question of the gift of healing. Is it reserved for a select few, or is it something all believers can access? Kevin’s perspective, grounded in Scripture, is incredibly encouraging. He referenced Mark 16:17-18, which states that signs, including laying hands on the sick and seeing them recover, will follow those who believe in Jesus’ name.

While Kevin acknowledges that some individuals may function at a higher level in certain gifts, like his own healing gift, he firmly believes that every believer can operate in it at some level. He shared his conviction that God gives every believer the gift needed for the specific need of the moment.

Interestingly, while Kevin operates powerfully in healing, he doesn’t consider himself to have a particularly strong prophetic gift. However, he acknowledges that there are times when he does prophesy, highlighting the fluid nature of the spiritual gifts.

Kevin emphasized a powerful movement he sees happening today, echoing Randy Clark’s term, “the little old ladies.” He’s witnessing every day, unexpected people – grandmothers, construction workers, teenagers, housewives – functioning in healing gifts. He believes that we are in a unique time in history where God is pouring out His Spirit on the church, empowering and equipping believers for the final great harvest. So, while not everyone has the gift of healing as a primary calling, we can all participate in healing the sick through the Spirit of God within us.

This resonates deeply with me. It’s not about being a superstar evangelist; it’s about ordinary people stepping out in faith and allowing God to work through them. Just as Jesus accessed whatever gift was needed at any given time, we too can be vessels for His supernatural power.

The Mystery of Healing: Inside vs. Outside the Church

One of the most intriguing points Kevin raised was the observation that it often seems easier for people to get healed outside the church building than inside. This is a “big mystery” that Kevin doesn’t fully understand. However, he pointed to the scriptural principle that miracles, signs, and wonders are often for the unbeliever, to reveal God’s presence and power to those who don’t yet know Him.

While God certainly heals believers, Kevin admitted that if he had to choose, he’d rather pray for a room full of unbelievers, simply because he often sees a greater response. This isn't to say God doesn't heal within the church, but it highlights the dynamic of faith and expectation. Perhaps, as I thought aloud during our conversation, it could be related to the unbelief Jesus encountered in his own synagogue, where He “could do not many mighty works there because of their unbelief” (Mark 6:5-6). Sometimes, religious familiarity can hinder the supernatural.

Overcoming the Fear Factor: Practical Steps to Sharing Jesus

Knowing that many people feel intimidated about sharing their faith, I asked Kevin for his advice on overcoming that initial fear of approaching someone about Jesus. His answer was incredibly practical and encouraging.

He emphasized that the way you approach someone is crucial. As for the fear itself, Kevin, despite 16 years of regular street ministry, still feels his heart thump with nervousness sometimes. But he makes a conscious decision to push past that fear. He described it as a “wall of fear” that he chooses to step through. It’s a decision of the will.

His approach to starting conversations is brilliant. He rarely begins by talking about God, Jesus, church, heaven, or hell. Instead, he looks for something relatable on the person – a rock band t-shirt, a shared interest – anything to strike up a natural conversation. By asking questions and genuinely engaging with the person, he builds a sense of comfort and connection. Once that rapport is established, he might casually mention he’s from a local church and ask if they have any pain he could pray about.

This approach disarms people, showing them that you’re not a “crazy person” or a “freak.” When God’s power shows up through healing, it naturally leads to conversations about Jesus and the love He has for them. As Kevin aptly put it, “That’s Fishers of Men right there.”

He summarized his method in a few simple steps:

1.  Push fear aside.
2.  Find something to start a conversation.
3.  Talk to them naturally.
4.  Ask if they have any pain.
5.  Pray for them.

It’s about building a bridge of connection before diving into the deeper spiritual matters.

The Interplay of Sin, Sickness, and Forgiveness: A Powerful Testimony

Our conversation then turned to the relationship between sin, sickness, and healing. Kevin shared a profound experience that illustrated this connection beautifully.

He recounted praying multiple times for a woman with severe arthritis who was using a walker. Despite his prayers, she experienced no change. Sensing there was more to the situation, Kevin felt the Lord prompt him with the word “unforgiveness.”

He gently asked the woman if there was anyone she needed to forgive. She confessed deep hatred for her ex-husband, blaming him for her physical condition due to years of abuse. Initially, she was unwilling to forgive him. Kevin patiently explained the true nature of forgiveness – not a feeling, but a decision of the will. He shared scriptures about how unforgiveness can block our relationship with God, hinder healing, and even make us sick. He emphasized that unforgiveness hurts the person holding onto it more than the offender.

Finally, the woman agreed to choose to forgive her ex-husband if it meant physical and emotional healing. As Kevin led her in a prayer of forgiveness, she struggled to get the words out, as if a demonic presence was resisting. But through clenched teeth, she spoke the words of forgiveness. Immediately, a release occurred. She began to shake, experiencing deliverance. After Kevin commanded the negative forces to leave and prayed for her healing, the pain vanished. She was able to bend over, touch her toes, and do things she couldn’t do before. This led to her accepting Christ, and she walked away without her walker, completely healed!

This powerful testimony underscores the spiritual roots that can sometimes underlie physical ailments. Kevin also mentioned how certain sins, like smoking, can directly cause illnesses like COPD or cancer. In such cases, he explains the connection and leads people in prayers of repentance, often seeing healing follow. Unforgiveness, he emphasized, is a major obstacle to healing.

A New Wave of Healing Ministries: Equipping the Saints

I then asked Kevin about the resurgence of healing ministries. We reminisced about the wave of powerful evangelists in the 1950s, like Oral Roberts and Jack Coe, and how that seemed to have waned. I wanted to know if he felt God was bringing another wave.

Kevin’s response was an emphatic yes! He sees a significant shift happening. For a long time, the focus was on “Rockstar evangelists” who held large meetings and prayed for everyone. While acknowledging their important role in paving the way, Kevin pointed out that a key downfall was a lack of equipping others to do the work.

He highlighted that the primary role of the five-fold ministry is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12). Now, he sees a rise in equipping ministries, focused on empowering ordinary believers to step into their God-given authority and minister effectively.

Kevin shared that his own life’s calling is to give away what God has given him, to empower others to go out and do the work of healing and evangelism. He finds immense joy in seeing people he has ministered to go on to pray for others and witness supernatural encounters. He recounted recent meetings where he prayed for people to receive healing gifts and the subsequent messages he received about them seeing healings happen firsthand.

He reiterated that this new wave is different. It’s not just about a few prominent figures; it’s about average, ordinary people – who are anything but average and ordinary in Christ – doing the work.

Final Thoughts

Wow! What an incredible conversation with Kevin Riordan. I am so encouraged by his story, his passion, and his unwavering faith in the power of Jesus to heal and transform lives. It’s a powerful reminder that God is still in the business of miracles and that He wants to use ordinary people like us to demonstrate His love and power to the world.

I want to encourage you today to take Kevin’s words to heart. Don’t let fear hold you back from sharing the love of Jesus with those around you. Look for opportunities to connect, to show compassion, and to offer prayer. You never know what God might do through you.

Hearing God's Voice in the Wilderness: Jay Cookingham's Supernatural Journey from Abuse to Sonship

From Abuse to Sonship. Jay's Testimony for Jesus

Have you ever wrestled with understanding God as a loving Father? Maybe your earthly father wound has cast a shadow on your perception of our Heavenly Father. Perhaps you've even felt distant from Him, questioning His love and presence in the midst of your trials. I know I have been there. That's why I was so incredibly moved and inspired by my conversation with Jay Cookingham from Strategic Fathering Ministries.

I recently had the profound privilege of interviewing Jay, and his testimony is nothing short of miraculous. His journey from unimaginable abuse to discovering his identity as a beloved son of God will absolutely rock you. Jay's story isn't just a story of survival; it's a testament to the raw, redemptive power of Jesus and the life-transforming truth of sonship.

A Childhood Defined by Darkness

Jay’s early life was steeped in darkness. Imagine growing up thinking the name of Jesus Christ was a swear word. That was Jay’s reality. Raised in an abusive home, both physically and verbally, Jay endured horrors no child should ever face. The abuse began at age seven and tragically included sexual abuse. Love was a foreign concept, replaced by constant verbal assaults that chipped away at his very sense of self-worth. He was told he was hated, unwanted, a waste of money – words that became his perceived identity.

Yet, in the midst of this storm, at the tender age of seven, Jay encountered Jesus. Invited to a kids’ crusade by a kind neighbor, Jay stepped into a church for the first time, bewildered by the happiness and genuine warmth he experienced. He heard about a Jesus who loved him, a radical concept that sparked a flicker of hope in his young heart. He even imagined meeting Jesus in the next room, eagerly anticipating the embrace of this promised love.

Jay gave his heart to Jesus that day, a pivotal moment. But as he candidly shares, his journey was far from instantly easier. The abuse intensified. This stark reality highlights a crucial truth: accepting Jesus doesn't magically erase our trials, but it does equip us to walk through them with supernatural strength and unwavering hope. Even as a child, Jay understood forgiveness and God’s acceptance, even amidst his confusion and pain. This childlike faith became the anchor in his turbulent sea.

Drifting and Despair: Hearing God's "No"

As Jay entered his teenage years, the weight of the ongoing abuse and unanswered questions led him to drift from God. Projecting his earthly father’s abusive image onto God, he saw Him as distant, even mean – a God who allowed his suffering. At just twelve years old, he turned to alcohol, then drugs at thirteen. This became his escape, a desperate attempt to numb the unbearable pain.

The verbal abuse was relentless, eroding his spirit. He recounts, "For years I thought my name was you worthless piece of fill in the blank." The constant barrage of negativity took its toll, driving him to a breaking point. At 17, consumed by despair, Jay made a suicide tape and ventured into the woods with a hunting knife, intending to end his life.

This is where the supernatural intervention of God breaks through in a powerful way. Standing on a rock, knife to his wrist, ready to bleed out in isolation, Jay heard a voice – an audible voice. Twice, clear as day, the word echoed: “No. No.” In the silence of the woods, miles from anyone, it was undeniably God speaking.

Jay was shaken to his core. He couldn’t deny what he heard. He abandoned his suicide plan, rattled and profoundly impacted. But even this direct encounter wasn't enough for a complete turnaround. Shortly after, in the same woods, lost in a haze of alcohol, Jay collapsed, feeling life slipping away. Again, the voice pierced through – “Is this the way that you wanted to end, Jay?”

This time, the question resonated deeply. "No, Father, no!" he cried out. He woke the next morning, miraculously without a hangover, and walked into church. The sermon? The Prodigal Son. Talk about a God-incidence! At 17, Jay returned to the Lord, recognizing he had been blaming God for the very pain He longed to heal.

The Miracle of Forgiveness and Stepping into Sonship

Jay’s journey took another dramatic turn when, home from college, he was ambushed by his father’s physical and verbal attack. At the top of the stairs, his father’s vile accusations reached a new low, sparking a rage in Jay that he had never experienced before. He turned, fist clenched, ready to strike back with years of pent-up fury.

But in that pivotal moment, something supernatural happened. “It was almost like I was watching myself in slow motion,” Jay recounts. His fist transformed into a pointing finger, and instead of the angry words he intended, he heard himself say, “Dad, I forgive you, and God loves you.” Words not of his own making, words divinely placed on his lips.

His father stopped. Silence. A miracle. Jay walked away, bewildered, asking God, “What just happened?” That moment of supernatural forgiveness became the turning point. It was, as Jay describes, stepping out of the prison of abuse and into the identity of a son of God. Forgiveness became the key that unlocked his chains.

Strategic Fathering Ministries: Revealing the Father's Heart

This powerful testimony fuels Jay’s ministry, Strategic Fathering Ministries. For 20 years, Jay has been dedicated to helping men understand the profound love of Father God. It began with practical outreach to children in need, evolving into a ministry focused on sonship. Jay realized that true transformation for men begins with understanding how strategically and deeply the Father loves them.

“Strategic Fathering…is all about knowing how strategically the Father loves us,” Jay explains. “If I can get men to understand how much they're loved by Father God, how much he sees them as sons, their lives start to change from that moment on.”

Jay travels, speaking to men’s groups, sharing his story and emphasizing the core message of sonship. He highlights that many Christian men, while believing in salvation, struggle to grasp the intimate relationship with God as Father. Father wounds create distance and hinder true connection. Jay’s ministry aims to bridge this gap, revealing the Father’s heart and restoring men’s identities as beloved sons.

Sonship: The Foundation of Freedom

Understanding our sonship is not just a theological concept; it’s the bedrock of vibrant Christianity. As Jay emphasizes, embracing our identity as sons of God unleashes freedom in every area of our lives. It's about recognizing the depth of God's love, a love that heals, restores, and empowers us to live out our divine purpose.

Jesus Himself modeled this intimate Father-son relationship, using the term “Abba Father,” a term of deep intimacy unheard of at the time. He revealed God not as a distant, untouchable deity, but as a loving, approachable Father who desires close relationship with His children.

Jay’s testimony and ministry powerfully underscore this truth. Healing from father wounds, understanding our sonship, and experiencing the Father's love are not optional extras in our faith journey. They are foundational. They are the keys to unlocking our true potential and walking in the fullness of who God created us to be.

Embrace Your Sonship, Embrace Freedom

Jay Cookingham’s story is a powerful reminder that even in the darkest valleys, God’s voice can break through. His journey from abuse to sonship is a testament to the transformative power of forgiveness and the unwavering love of Father God.

Are you ready to embrace your identity as a son or daughter of the Most High God? Are you ready to experience the freedom and healing that comes from truly knowing the Father’s heart?

I encourage you to watch my full interview with Jay Cookingham  and delve deeper into this life-changing message. Visit StrategicFathering.net to learn more about Jay's incredible ministry.

Witnessing the Supernatural in Japan: My Conversation with Steve Barrett on Earthquake Relief

A Supernatural Response to Japan's Earthquake

Hey everyone, Conrad here from ConradRocks.Net! I recently had the opportunity to connect with my long-time friend Steve Barrett, a missionary with Holy Fire Japan and Dynamic Church Planting International (DCPI). You might remember I initially met him on Twitter through the hashtag #Tworship—a testament to how God connects us in unexpected ways. Steve was actually on a live Facebook broadcast of mine when a significant foreshock hit Japan, leading up to one of the largest earthquakes in southern Japan’s history. It was a truly surreal experience, witnessing the start of a major disaster live and now I get to share with you about the amazing relief work he’s doing. It's a story of not just physical aid, but a profound spiritual awakening in a time of crisis, a glimpse of the supernatural power of the gospel at work.

The Initial Shock and a Prophetic Foreshadow

I’ll never forget that live broadcast where the ground began to tremble. It felt like something out of a movie. Steve described it as being both "exciting" and terrifying all at once. Little did we know that this was just a foreshock to the real earthquake that came just a couple of days later. This event was certainly a reminder of how quickly things can change, and it’s certainly a powerful example of why we need to be ready and available to God’s call. It’s also a prophetic example of the types of sudden shifts and shakings that can happen in our lives, not just geographically. This whole thing is truly a reminder of the need to be aware of the spiritual world and the realities that are happening that go beyond our everyday existence.

The Reality on the Ground: Assessing the Needs

It’s been about a week since the main earthquake and Steve describes how difficult it is to gather clear and accurate information amid the constant flow of news, social media updates, and varied reports. He emphasized how important it is to speak directly with those affected. He mentioned while distribution centers are established, with people having to queue for 30 minutes to an hour for supplies, he acknowledged a sense of weariness among the people. The initial survival needs—water and food—were being met, but there was a deep need for comfort and care beyond the basics. This is where Steve’s ministry, guided by a supernatural leading, felt compelled to respond.

Shifting Focus: Moving Beyond Survival

It's clear that the early relief was about survival, but now the focus has shifted to more personalized care. Steve and his team are collaborating with local groups to meet deeper needs. They are delivering hot meals, mats for comfort (since many are sleeping on the ground), and even toys for children who have been out of school for a week. I'm really excited about this because as you all know my heart is for kids and for God to use every opportunity to reach them for Jesus. He's not just distributing things; he's showing them the love of Jesus through these tangible acts of service and this is the key component to any true prophetic ministry.

My Reflection: The Power of Direct Ministry

One thing that really struck me during our conversation was the importance of direct ministry. Steve shared stories of people falling through the cracks—the elderly, families without transportation—who were not being reached by the government's relief efforts. It’s in these moments that we see the need for direct, personal outreach— where one can simply offer a glass of water, a hug, or simply listen to someone’s story of loss, these actions carry the supernatural power of God’s love. That’s the spiritual work that really matters. The government might provide the basics but they're not going out to spend time with individuals and that is key to long-term change and recovery.

Biblical References and the Importance of the Gospel

As Christians we can take heart that there are many great things that governments are doing all over the world to help their citizens during time of crisis, but the bottom line is that we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus. This is a call that goes beyond just providing for physical needs, this is a call to deliver the gospel of Jesus. This is what Steve is doing. He stated it so well when he said “Now is the time for people to kind of start to look, you know, as we’re able to reach out to these people and also the government is doing that too.” That’s the beauty of what we get to do – to show people we care and go further than just providing resources, we are called to provide hope! In those desperate times, when people feel like they have nothing to look forward to, the gospel is the only hope they will find. This is where the prophetic comes in as we are called to stand in the gap. We're called to love our neighbors as ourselves. Steve's ministry embodies this commandment beautifully. We're not only called to give a hand-up, but a hand of hope and this comes from the love of Jesus. I believe that's what it means to be prophetic.

Practical Needs and Tangible Ways to Help

Steve shared practical ways people can help through financial support. He mentioned that with just with $50, you can buy about 200 bottles of water, or hundreds of diapers or toilet paper rolls. More recently, Steve has been focusing on providing mats ($10 each) and portable gas stoves ($22 each), which can bring comfort and a sense of normalcy to families. He really emphasized how important it is to give people tools that empower them to get back some personal control as well as meet their basic needs. The government was sending tents to some areas, but people still need a way to cook hot meals. I was also moved by what he said about how people can use aluminum foil to cook over a small gas fire. It may not seem like much, but providing for the ability to create a hot meal for someone in despair is so powerful. He highlighted the efficiency of PayPal for instant giving, emphasizing how quickly funds can be used for relief efforts. He’s able to buy supplies in minutes once a donation is made. This is the power of technology at its best.

Steve's Testimony and the Power of Prayer

What struck me most was Steve's passionate plea for prayer. He spoke about how the prayers of others empower him, giving him strength and clarity when he’s feeling tired or overwhelmed. “The power is the spirit and people’s words and what they’re praying and what they’re sending your way will give you the strengthening.” He feels the connection through prayer, noting that the body of Christ is unified when we all move with purpose. He reminded us that ministry is not just about logistics; it's about connecting to the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit. This is the strength behind the relief that goes beyond the physical realm. He is truly living out a prophetic calling to bless the people of Japan and he needs our support.

Let's Stand in the Gap

I was really moved by my conversation with Steve, and I hope you were too. This is a situation that truly needs our support. We can make a real difference in the lives of people in Japan, both physically and spiritually.

Here’s how you can get involved:

Financial Support via PayPal: Give directly to Steve’s relief efforts at stevesunami@yahoo.com. He is able to turn around and use these funds instantly for immediate needs. This is the most direct way to provide support right now.

Prayer: Please join me in praying for Steve, his family, and the people of Japan. Pray for their physical needs, but also for spiritual revival and for them to encounter the love of Jesus.

This isn't just about a disaster response; it's about being part of the spiritual movement of God’s love in action. Let’s join Steve in bringing hope to the people of Japan, showing them the reality of a living Jesus, and walking in our prophetic call. Let's be the hands and feet of Jesus in this time of need.

Sherry McClure - Merge Memphis Interview

Spiritual Impact: Discovering the Power of Merge Memphis

Hey everyone, Conrad here from ConradRocks.Net, and I’m absolutely buzzing with excitement to share something truly special with you today. As you know, I’m all about seeking the spiritual and seeing God move in the everyday, and recently, I've had the incredible privilege of witnessing that firsthand. In this post, I want to tell you about an extraordinary ministry here in Memphis called Merge Memphis. It’s not just a charity; it’s a living, breathing testament to the supernatural power of faith in action, inspired by the teachings of Jesus. This journey has been deeply prophetic for me, showing me what it truly means to live out the gospel.

Discovering Merge Memphis: A Ministry Spotlight

My connection with Merge Memphis started pretty organically, as many things do these days – on Facebook. Susan and I stumbled across Sherry McClure and her incredible work with the homeless community in Memphis, and we were immediately captivated. The more we learned about the impact they were having, the more we felt drawn to get involved. I mean, this wasn't just talk; it was real, tangible, and frankly, inspiring change. The passion and dedication that Sherry and her team had was infectious, and it’s been snowballing into amazing relationships with other people who share this heart for Memphis. It's been a real lesson in the power of community, and I wanted to share the interview I did with Sherry so you can hear their story directly.

Meeting Sherry: A Heart for Service and a Prophetic Calling

I had the pleasure of interviewing Sherry on my show, "Coffee with Conrad," and hearing her story firsthand was nothing short of amazing. She shared that her and her husband Keith's journey began with a profound realization that they were called to something more than just attending church and praising God. In their own words, they were simply "not doing what God was telling them to do on the inside." This self-awareness, combined with a timely church series about discovering one's purpose in life, truly set them on a course of prophetic action. They felt like the pastor's messages were resonating with them profoundly every week, and it led to the birth of Merge Memphis.

Merge Memphis: A Mission Rooted in Jesus' Teachings

What does Merge Memphis do? Well, their mission statement is simple, but deeply impactful: “To house the homeless, feed the hungry, and clothe those in need.” It’s a direct reflection of what Jesus commanded us to do, and they are carrying out this mission with an exceptional level of dedication. The name “Merge” itself comes from Sherry's vision for a non-profit restaurant. The dream was to gather people from all walks of life—those experiencing homelessness, unemployment, and those working in the restaurant business—and merge them back into a better life through community and relationship. This is the heart of Merge Memphis, it is not about just handing out things but rebuilding lives through relationship and faith.

The Scope of Their Impact: Hands-On Ministry

The work of Merge Memphis is incredibly diverse and impactful. They started by adopting a homeless shelter, the Opportunity Center, connected with Memphis Union Mission, which houses about 42 men trying to rebuild their lives. Merge Memphis serves meals there and engages in conversation, fostering a sense of hope and spiritual connection. It's all about offering a "hand up," rather than just a handout.

Beyond the shelter, they've adopted nine families in DeSoto and Shelby counties, providing them with substantial food boxes that can last for weeks. They also organized “Project One Memphis,” where they collected hats, gloves, and scarves and distributed care packages at bus stops around the city. One of the most unique ways they raise funds is through their food truck, run entirely by volunteers. They take it to events and festivals, and half of the profit goes back into operating the truck, while the other half funds their ongoing projects in the community.

A Success Story: Seeds of Faith and Transformation

One story that really resonated with me was about a man they met at the Opportunity Center. He had a history of addiction but was now six months sober and had a hunger to be involved in the work of Merge Memphis. He expressed such a clear passion, and it really touched Sherry and Keith’s hearts. They formed a relationship, he began working on the food truck, helped with “Project One Memphis," and even expressed his desire to attend church. Thanks to Merge Memphis, who provided him with a bus pass, this man is not just attending, but actively serving in the church community! This, my friends, is the supernatural at work. This is the prophetic call being answered. It is clear that God's hand is on this ministry.

Biblical Foundations: Love in Action

The work of Merge Memphis isn't just about charity; it's about living out the fundamental teachings of Jesus. Matthew 25:35-40 echoes the very heart of their mission: "For I was hungry, and you gave me food, I was thirsty, and you gave me drink, I was a stranger, and you welcomed me... Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." These are not just verses; they’re the guiding principles that drive every action of Merge Memphis. By loving the “least of these,” we see that they are embodying the love of Christ in a tangible and spiritual way. This has certainly helped give me insight and confirmation of the heart behind Merge Memphis. This prophetic vision given to Sherry and Keith is bearing amazing fruit.

My Personal Reflections: Being Part of Something Greater

Being involved with Merge Memphis has profoundly impacted me and my wife, Susan. It's more than just volunteering; it's about being part of a prophetic movement that's changing lives. It's about seeing God's love expressed through the selfless service of ordinary people. I am reminded that the supernatural is very present and active when we step out in faith and obedience. I also see that our purpose extends beyond our church walls and that there are opportunities all around to answer the call of service. It has pushed me to examine my own life and ask myself how I can be a better vessel for the Holy Spirit.

How You Can Get Involved

I am so excited to share how you can be part of this amazing ministry. Here’s how you can help:

I encourage each and every one of you to consider partnering with this awesome work. Merge Memphis is not just an organization, it's a spiritual movement, a testament to God’s love, and a prophetic call to all of us. Their work truly embodies the supernatural power of faith in action, a power we can all tap into.

Final Thoughts

Witnessing firsthand the work that Merge Memphis is doing has been a true blessing and a reminder of the power of faith and love. This spiritual journey has not only inspired me to live more intentionally but has also ignited a passion to see the Kingdom of God expand. Let us all strive to live out our faith and be a light to our communities.

Thank you for taking the time to journey with me today! Let's continue to dig deeper and go higher, always striving to follow the path Jesus has set before us.

Until next time, Conrad, from ConradRocks.Net.

Spreading God's Love: 52 Random Acts of Kindness

Spreading God's Love: Lessons from Valerie Campbell's Random Acts of Kindness

As a faith-based content creator, I'm always on the lookout for inspiring stories of people living out their Christian values in practical, impactful ways. Recently, I had the privilege of interviewing Valerie Campbell, a remarkable woman who has embarked on a mission to perform 52 random acts of kindness throughout the year. Her story is not only touching but also serves as a powerful reminder of how we can be the hands and feet of Jesus in our communities.

The Birth of a Mission

Valerie's journey began in the wake of personal tragedy. Over the span of two and a half years, she experienced the loss of her father, grandmother, and mother-in-law, along with other hardships. Instead of allowing these trials to defeat her, Valerie chose to turn her pain into purpose. As the new year approached, she made a decision: she would ensure that when she looked back on the coming year, she would have only good and happy memories.

This resolution gave birth to her "52 Random Acts of Kindness" mission. Valerie's goal is simple yet profound: to actively seek opportunities to show God's love to others through acts of kindness, both big and small.

The Power of Small Gestures

What struck me most about Valerie's approach is how she emphasizes that kindness doesn't have to be grandiose or expensive. Some of her acts of kindness include:

1. Offering to pump gas for elderly individuals on cold days

2. Sharing unused coupons with people in line at the store

3. Making and distributing warm scarves for the homeless

4. Creating "goodie bags" filled with essential items for those in need

These goodie bags, which Valerie always keeps on hand in her car, are a perfect example of how a little preparation can lead to big impact. Costing between $6-$9 each, they contain food items, toiletries, and warm accessories. The joy these simple bags bring to recipients is immeasurable.

Biblical Teachings in Action

As I listened to Valerie share her experiences, I was reminded of Jesus' words in Matthew 25:40: "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Valerie's actions embody this teaching, demonstrating how we can serve Christ by serving others.

Her approach also reflects the fruit of the Spirit described in Galatians 5:22-23: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Through her acts of kindness, Valerie is cultivating and sharing these spiritual gifts with those around her.

Personal Reflections and Experiences

Valerie shared several touching encounters that have resulted from her kindness mission. One story that particularly moved me was about a homeless man who, after receiving a goodie bag from Valerie, immediately thought of another person in need and asked if he could share the second bag with them. This selflessness in the face of such hardship is a powerful testament to the human spirit and the ripple effect of kindness.

Another inspiring aspect of Valerie's mission is how it has influenced others. Her coworkers, friends, and even strangers on social media have been inspired to join in, either by creating their own goodie bags or by finding other ways to spread kindness in their communities.

Overcoming Fears and Misconceptions

One of the most important aspects of Valerie's story is how she's overcome common fears and misconceptions about interacting with the homeless. Many of us have heard warnings about the dangers of engaging with people on the streets, but Valerie chooses to approach these interactions with faith and compassion rather than fear.

She shared, "I really choose not to live in fear. First of all, because I know that God... I feel like if I'm in danger, God will quicken my spirit." This faith-filled approach has allowed her to have meaningful, positive interactions with people who are often overlooked or avoided by society.

The Supernatural Impact of Kindness

As I reflect on Valerie's mission, I'm struck by how her actions align with the supernatural power of God's love. In a world that often seems dark and divided, these simple acts of kindness shine like beacons of hope. They're a tangible manifestation of God's love, working through His people to touch lives and transform communities.

The prophetic nature of Valerie's work is evident in how it speaks to the heart of what it means to be a follower of Christ. By stepping out in faith and love, she's not just meeting immediate needs but also proclaiming the good news of God's love in a powerful, non-verbal way.

Practical Steps for Spreading Kindness

Inspired by Valerie's story, I want to encourage you, my readers, to consider how you might incorporate more intentional acts of kindness into your daily life. Here are some practical steps you can take:

1. Pray for opportunities: Ask God to open your eyes to the needs around you and give you the courage to respond.

2. Prepare in advance: Like Valerie, consider keeping a few "goodie bags" or other resources on hand for when opportunities arise.

3. Start small: Remember, even the smallest gesture can make a big difference in someone's life.

4. Involve others: Share your experiences with friends and family, and invite them to join you in spreading kindness.

5. Document your journey: Consider keeping a journal or sharing your experiences on social media to inspire others.

Valerie Campbell's "52 Random Acts of Kindness" mission is a powerful reminder of how we can be the hands and feet of Jesus in our communities. Her story challenges us to step out of our comfort zones, overcome our fears, and actively seek ways to show God's love to those around us.

As we strive to grow spiritually and deepen our relationship with Christ, let's remember that faith without works is dead (James 2:17). I encourage you to prayerfully consider how you can incorporate more intentional acts of kindness into your daily life. Whether it's creating goodie bags for the homeless, offering a helping hand to a stranger, or simply sharing a kind word with someone who needs it, every act of kindness has the potential to change a life and reflect God's love.

Let's commit to being more like Christ in our actions, not just our words. Who knows? Your act of kindness might be the very thing that opens someone's heart to the transformative power of God's love.

I'd love to hear about your experiences with random acts of kindness. Please share your stories in the comments below or reach out to me on social media. Together, we can create a movement of kindness that brings glory to God and hope to our world.

Remember, as followers of Christ, we're called to dig deeper in our faith and go higher in our impact. Let's answer that call with love, compassion, and kindness.

God bless you all, and until next time, this is Conrad from ConradRocks.Net, encouraging you to be the change you want to see in the world.

Shining a Light on Human Trafficking: A Conversation with Janet Marie Napper

Light in the Darkness: The Church's Role in Fighting Human Trafficking

As we enter Human Trafficking Awareness Month, I felt compelled to use my platform to shed light on this critical issue. Today, I'm excited to share my recent conversation with Janet Marie Napper, founder of Overcoming Abuse God's Way, a ministry dedicated to combating human trafficking through biblical education and support. This interview not only opened my eyes to the severity of the problem but also reinforced my belief in the power of faith to bring about real change.

The Shocking Reality of Human Trafficking

During our chat, Janet shared some truly eye-opening information about the current state of human trafficking in the United States. As a man of faith and a believer in the power of Jesus Christ, I was deeply troubled by what I learned.

Did you know that the most vulnerable age for sex trafficking victims is between 11 and 13 years old? Even more disturbing, Janet revealed that children as young as five and six are being exploited right here in our own country. It's a stark reminder that evil exists in this world, but also that we, as followers of Christ, have a responsibility to fight against it.

Janet shared a statistic that truly shook me: sex trafficking has now become the number one illegal business in the United States, surpassing even drugs and guns. To put this into perspective, she explained, "You know how easy you can go out and find drugs? You know how easy you can go out and find guns? It is that easy to go out and find a child for sex." This reality is heartbreaking and demands our immediate attention and action.

The Spiritual Battle Against Trafficking

As Janet and I discussed the issue, it became clear that this isn't just a social or criminal problem – it's a spiritual battle. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." This verse perfectly encapsulates the fight against human trafficking.

Janet's ministry, Overcoming Abuse God's Way, takes a unique approach to combating this evil. Instead of focusing solely on rescue efforts, they emphasize prevention and healing through biblical education. This resonated deeply with me, as I believe that true transformation comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Power of Biblical Education in Healing

One of the most powerful aspects of Janet's work is her focus on helping victims understand their true identity in Christ. As she explained, many trafficking survivors struggle with feelings of shame, anger, and fear. By teaching them who they are in God's eyes, Janet's ministry helps these individuals find hope and healing.

This approach aligns perfectly with Scripture. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we're reminded that "if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" This truth is at the heart of Janet's work, offering a path to redemption and restoration for those who have suffered unimaginable trauma.

Janet shared that many of the women in her support groups have revealed their past experiences with sex trafficking once they felt comfortable. These young women, now in their early twenties, carry the scars of their exploitation. However, through biblical education and support, they're beginning to heal and reclaim their lives.

The Importance of Prevention

While rescue efforts are crucial, Janet emphasized the importance of prevention. She explained that 70-80% of sex trafficking victims are runaways, often fleeing abusive situations at home. By reaching out to at-risk youth and providing them with biblical education and support, Janet's ministry aims to prevent these vulnerable individuals from falling prey to traffickers in the first place.

This preventative approach reminds me of Proverbs 22:6, which says, "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it." By instilling godly values and self-worth in young people, we can help protect them from the lies and manipulation of those who would exploit them.

Breaking the Cycle of Abuse

Janet's work doesn't just focus on sex trafficking; it addresses all forms of abuse. She explained that many trafficking victims have a history of abuse, which makes them more vulnerable to exploitation. By helping individuals overcome the effects of abuse – including anger, unforgiveness, insecurity, and fear – Janet's ministry equips them to break free from destructive patterns and build healthier relationships.

This holistic approach to healing reminds me of Isaiah 61:1-3, which speaks of bringing good news to the poor, binding up the brokenhearted, and proclaiming freedom for the captives. It's a powerful reminder of our calling as Christians to minister to those who are hurting and oppressed.

The Role of the Church in Combating Trafficking

As we discussed the widespread nature of human trafficking, I couldn't help but wonder about the role of the Church in addressing this issue. Janet emphasized that the Church has a crucial part to play in both prevention and healing.

She pointed out that many trafficking victims feel shame and isolation, believing that no one could understand or accept them after what they've been through. The Church, as a community of believers, has the opportunity to demonstrate God's unconditional love and acceptance to these individuals.

This reminded me of James 1:27, which states, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." By reaching out to trafficking survivors and at-risk youth, the Church can fulfill this biblical mandate and be a powerful force for change in our communities.

How We Can Make a Difference

As I reflected on my conversation with Janet, I felt a renewed sense of purpose in using my platform to raise awareness about this issue. Here are some ways we can all get involved in the fight against human trafficking:

1. Pray: Never underestimate the power of prayer. Ask God to protect vulnerable individuals, bring justice to perpetrators, and provide healing for survivors. Pray for ministries like Overcoming Abuse God's Way, that they would have the resources and wisdom to effectively combat trafficking.

2. Educate Yourself: Learn the signs of human trafficking and how to report suspicious activity in your community. The Department of Homeland Security's Blue Campaign (www.dhs.gov/blue-campaign) offers excellent resources for recognizing and reporting trafficking.

3. Support Ministries: Consider supporting organizations like Overcoming Abuse God's Way through donations or volunteer work. These ministries often operate on limited budgets and rely on the generosity of supporters to continue their vital work.

4. Spread Awareness: Share information about human trafficking with your friends, family, and church community. Host a screening of a documentary on trafficking or invite a speaker from a local anti-trafficking organization to your church or community group.

5. Advocate for Change: Contact your local and national representatives to support legislation that combats human trafficking and provides resources for survivors.

6. Foster a Culture of Respect: Teach the young people in your life about healthy relationships, consent, and the inherent value of every human being as created in God's image.

7. Support Survivor-Led Initiatives: Look for organizations and businesses that empower trafficking survivors through employment and leadership opportunities.

8. Be a Compassionate Listener: If someone discloses a history of abuse or trafficking to you, respond with empathy and without judgment. Help connect them with professional resources and support.

9. Seek God's Guidance: Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal how you can personally make a difference in this fight. Be open to His leading, even if it takes you out of your comfort zone.

As followers of Christ, we're called to be a light in the darkness. Human trafficking is one of the darkest evils of our time, but with God's help, we can make a difference. I encourage you to visit Janet's website at overcomingabusegodsway.com to learn more about her ministry and how you can get involved.

Let's commit to being more than just hearers of the Word, but doers as well (James 1:22). Together, we can shine the light of Jesus into the lives of those affected by human trafficking and bring hope to the hopeless.

In closing, I want to thank Janet Marie Napper for her tireless work in this field and for sharing her insights with us. Her dedication to serving others through Christ's love is truly inspiring. Our conversation has reinforced my belief that when we combine faith with action, we can make a real impact in the lives of those who are suffering.

As we move forward in this fight against human trafficking, let's remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:40: "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." By reaching out to those affected by trafficking, we're not only serving them but also serving our Lord.

Remember, if you or someone you know has been affected by abuse or human trafficking, help is available. Reach out to Overcoming Abuse God's Way at 901-605-8087 or visit their website for support and resources.

Let's continue to pray, act, and trust in God's power to bring healing and transformation to our world. As we do so, we can take comfort in the promise of Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Our efforts, combined with God's love and power, can bring about real change in the lives of trafficking survivors and those at risk.

Personal Reflection

As I reflect on my conversation with Janet, I'm reminded of the importance of using our God-given platforms and talents to address critical issues like human trafficking. It's easy to feel overwhelmed by the magnitude of the problem, but I'm encouraged by the words of Mother Teresa: "We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop."

Each of us has a unique role to play in this fight. For me, it's using my voice and platform to raise awareness and encourage action. For Janet, it's providing biblical education and support to survivors. For you, it might be volunteering, donating, or simply being more aware and vigilant in your community.

I'm also struck by the power of divine appointments. Janet and I met about a year ago, and that connection has led to numerous other opportunities to serve and make a difference. It's a beautiful reminder of how God orchestrates relationships and opportunities when we're open to His leading.

Moving Forward in Faith

As we conclude, I want to encourage you to take some time to pray and reflect on how God might be calling you to engage in the fight against human trafficking. Whether it's through supporting ministries like Overcoming Abuse God's Way, volunteering with local organizations, or simply being more aware and vigilant in your daily life, every action counts.

Remember, our ultimate hope in this fight comes from Christ. As we read in John 1:5, "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." No matter how dark the situation may seem, we can trust that God's light is more powerful and that He is working to bring justice and healing.

Let's commit to being that light in our communities, shining the love and truth of Jesus into the darkest corners of our world. Together, with God's help, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by human trafficking.

Thank you for taking the time to read and engage with this important topic. I encourage you to share this information with others and to continue learning about how you can make a difference. Remember, awareness is the first step towards change.

Until next time, keep shining your light and walking in faith.
