Rejection Therapy for Christians

Christians are scared to share the gospel because of rejection. They need rejection therapy.

Rejection therapy is asking a person a question knowing that the answer is probably going to be 'no' and being able to walk away unscathed.

So if you need to work your way up to sharing the gospel with somebody, try out some rejection therapy. You most likely won't get beat up. You won't get shot at. You may laugh and find out how silly that fear of rejection really is.

Jesus says 'ask and you will receive'. You'd be surprised at how many people say 'yes' to the craziest things.

Here's some ideas:

Hug a Walmart Greeter
Have a Tour in a Library
Ask Strangers for Compliments
Ask a stranger to try on their shoes
Get a Free Room at a Hotel
Ask for a discount at Starbucks
Challenge a stranger to a Staring Contest
Race a Random Person
Sit in Police Car's Driver Seat
Take a selfie with a stranger

You probably won't get beat up for trying any of these things and you may even make some new friends. But the idea is when we share the gospel in America we're not going to get beat up either.

Plus Jesus commands us to do it.

Heavy Metal Deliverance

The bible talks about burning cursed objects (Deut 7:5,25,26; Ex 32:20; 1 Chron 14:12) . The Christians burned their curious arts in Acts chapter 19 for example (Acts 19:19).

I was under demonic oppression for years. I finally burned my heavy metal CDs as an act of faith.

I experienced major deliverance during the burning of those CDs. I saw fowl like or bat-like demons swirl out of the fire and leave while my head was spinning so much I thought I was going to fall down. It felt like I lost 50 pounds in the spirit. I could think much clearer. I was FREE! Those thoughts that used to plague me had stopped.

I never returned to that vomit (2 Peter 2:22)!

Heavy metal is a tool of the devil. It's there to steal the word of God that was sown in people's hearts (Mark 4:15; Matt 13:4,19). Once you burn your heavy metal collection, you will find out what I am talking about.

You don't believe me? I didn't believe it either. I stepped out in faith. I was tired of being oppressed and dared 'believe' the Word of God over my selfish inclinations.

I may have not been 'saved' by that act, but I certainly was made free!

Are you oppressed?
Is God convicting you about your heavy metal collection?
Do you love Jesus?
Do you have faith?

Let me see your faith by your works (James 2:14-26).

Theology I Learned from My Cat

As I was seeking the Lord this morning, Boaz came up to my tablet and watched with curiosity as I spoke notes into the tablet. That must have seemed miraculous to him. I wonder how much he understood of what was actually going on.

I began to wonder if Boaz would ever understand what I wrote by speaking it into being. Maybe he knows words like ‘no’, ‘good boy’, and ‘Boaz’, but I am pretty sure, he doesn't get but maybe 1% of what I spoke into the tablet.

Then I thought about how God wrote on the tablet for Moses in a language that hopefully, we could understand.  It took mankind over 6000 years to discover that there was such a thing as DNA. A finite mind trying to comprehend an infinite God.

Boaz was curious and he wanted to be near me. I think we can learn a lot of theology from that.

Are we curious about God? Do we long to be near God?
