Battling Fear: A Warrior's Guide

Finally Overcome Fear!

This morning, something hit me during my prayer time – all this fear! Emails overflowing with it. Fear is crippling, and let me tell you, I've battled panic attacks myself. But here's the thing: fear is a war we can win.

This is for all you warriors out there. Fear is the enemy's weapon, but we have the armor of God (Ephesians 6:11). It's time to suit up!

Romans 6:16 lays it out straight: we serve who we obey. Are we gonna let fear call the shots, or are we gonna answer to God? This fear we wrestle with? It's about our core beliefs.  Do we believe in God's word like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego staring down that fiery furnace? Fear wasn't their boss, and it doesn't have to be ours.

Now, Revelation 21:8 tells a truth we can't ignore – fear is listed first among those who won't inherit the kingdom. That means overcoming fear is critical. We are called to be overcomers (Revelation)!

Here's your battle plan:

Renew your mind. Romans 12:2 talks about transforming your mind. Fill it with scripture, develop a Christ-centered perspective. Let God's word be your weapon.

Spiritual warfare is real. Our weapons are mighty in God (2 Corinthians 10:4). Prayer is our ammo. Jude 1:20 reminds us, faith comes through hearing God's word. So pray, warriors, pray hard!

Don't just stand there. Sometimes, the best defense is a good offense.  Face your fear. Remember the kid who hates vegetables?  Just eat them, get it over with, and claim your reward!

Hey, I even read a book once, back in the day, called "Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway." Not exactly Christian literature, but the title speaks volumes.

Fear doesn't have to win. We can build ourselves up in faith, take action, and wield the power of prayer and scripture. We are warriors, and in Christ, we will overcome!

The Power of Corporate Prayer

On a prayer walk today the Lord impressed upon me (strongly....)  something that I need to share with you.

1   Peter was delivered through the prayers of people that weren't really expecting those prayers to be answered.  In fact, they were surprised that their corporate prayer actually yielded results  (see Acts 12:1-16).

2  Paul had faith in the power of corporate prayer.   Paul believed that God would change the course of his life through the prayers of fellow believers   (See Philemon 1:22; Romans 15:30-31) .

3  Jesus said that when we agree together we can ask according to His Name (i.e. His Nature, Character and Authority  - see Matthew 18:19-20) and it will be granted.

Corporate prayer according to the good, perfect, or acceptable will of God (Romans 12:2) changes things.  When we pray in symphony as a group of believers we  pray the will of our Father in  heaven to be performed on earth.    He hears our effectual fervent prayers (James 5:16) and answers them -  sometimes to our surprise!

When believers pray together according to the will of God - miracles happen!

From Buddhism to Radically Saved! - Jonnathan's testimony

From Buddhism to Jesus

I have an amazing friend named Jonnathan

Jonnathan has one of the most powerful testimonies of coming to faith in Jesus that I've ever heard. Jonnathan grew up as a Buddhist, even being selected by the Dalai Lama as a potential Buddhist monk when he was just 7 years old. However, his life took a radical turn toward Jesus in the most supernatural way.

When Jonnathan was 23 years old, his world was crumbling around him. His dad had lost his life savings, they were about to lose their home and car, and his entire family had turned against him. The weight of it all caused Jonnathan to spiral into despair and even plan to take his own life with his dad's pistol.

But God had other plans. At the moment Jonnathan was about to end it all, there was a knock at the door. Two young Mormon missionaries said they had heard a voice telling them to come to Jonnathan's house, that there was a "little boy who has questions that need answers" found only in the Bible.

In that moment, Jonnathan realized he was the "little boy" God was referring to. He was utterly undone by the fact that God saw him and cared enough to supernaturally send help his way. Jonnathan invited the missionaries in and gave his life to Jesus Christ right then and there.

Over the next couple of weeks, word spread about Jonnathan's experience, and more and more people gathered to do Bible studies with him. During those small group studies, God downloaded incredible scriptural insights and understanding directly into Jonnathan's heart. It was like a profound outpouring of the Holy Spirit!

Jonnathan passionately shared how in those Bible studies, he would read passages he had never heard before, and God would instantly reveal the meaning to him through divine revelation. The missionaries were stunned, telling Jonnathan he must be a prophet because of this supernatural gifting.

Ultimately, Jonnathan's life was completely transformed by his encounter with the living God. He left behind his Buddhist roots and fully embraced faith in Jesus Christ. It's been amazing to witness my friend's journey and see the undeniable power of God to radically save someone, even from the brink of suicide.

Jonnathan's story gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. There's no doubt in my mind that the God of the Bible is real and that He relentlessly pursues people to save them and give them new life in His Son Jesus. I'm so thankful for what God did for my friend, and I pray his testimony encourages you to seek the Lord like never before!
