From Bondage to the Biblical Jesus: The Radical Transformation of an Ex-Jehovah's Witness

Image
Ex - Jehovah's Witness Bryan Jones Testimony I was sitting on the back porch watching the clouds roll in over the pines, sipping on a fresh cup of coffee. There is something about a quiet morning that makes you reflect on the sheer weight of spiritual blindness. You know, many people wake up every single day, put on their shoes, and walk through their lives completely unaware that they are living behind a veil. They are in bondage, trapped in systems of "religion" that offer rules but no power, and they don't even know it. It reminds me of what the Apostle Paul wrote: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (2 Corinthians 4:4 KJV). If you have followed my work at ConradRocks.net , you know that my heartbeat is for you to have a personal, supernatural, spiritual relationship with the biblical Jesus. Not a religion, not a checklist...

From Bondage to Breakthrough: Finding the Real Jesus After the Watchtower

Image
EX - Jehovah's Witness Louisa McLeish It was a quiet morning. I was sitting at my desk, looking out at the pines, scrolling through Facebook. I’ve always been fascinated by how people find their way to the light, especially those who have been trapped in the shadows of high-control religious systems. I decided to post a simple question: "If you were an ex-Jehovah’s Witness, I want to talk to you." I didn't have to wait long. My friend Louisa McLeish stepped up to the plate. As we hopped on a call for an episode of Coffee with Conrad, I realized quickly that this wasn't just going to be a dry theological discussion. This was a story of a heart being shattered and then meticulously put back together by the hands of a loving Father. You see, many of us take our spiritual freedom for granted. We walk into churches, we read our Bibles, and we pray to Jesus without a second thought. But for someone like Louisa, every single one of those acts was once a forbidden f...

Do you have a testimony for Jesus? Get it online!

Image
(sharing my testimony at the park) I encourage people to share their testimony for Jesus online. In any form. Just get it out there. Whether it be Facebook, YouTube, google plus, blogger or Vimeo - GET IT ONLINE! Keep it succinct. Let people know how bad it was, but don't spend all your time on how bad things were. People have a tendency to spend too much time on how bad it was. Trim the extraneous stuff. Be brutally honest . Do as the Lord leads, but if you say you had a drug problem, people are going to think you smoked pot when maybe you were shooting up heroine in the closet. There are people that think no one is as far gone as they are and that they are BEYOND being saved. So be brutally honest (as the Lord leads) about how bad it was so that people can truly identify with your past. The TRANSFORMATION What was the experience for you actually like when Jesus changed your life? What were you thinking, feeling, experiencing? Be as specific and descri...

From the Pit to the Pulpit: The Supernatural Transformation of John Roush

Image
John Roush Testimony Imagine sitting in a local Chinese restaurant, the steam from a hot plate of food rising to meet your face, but you can’t even taste it. You aren’t there for the food. You’re there because it has been raining for four solid days in Alabama—that heavy, relentless Southern rain that soaks through your clothes and settles into your very bones. Your feet are pulsing with the fire of "jungle rot," covered in blisters from miles of walking in sodden shoes. You have a fever of 103 degrees, and the only thing keeping you upright is a pitcher of beer and the desperate hope that someone will finally call the police on you. This was the reality for John Roush. For years, the streets of Mobile and Tillmans Corner were his only home. He wasn't just a man who had fallen on hard times; he was a man consumed by the ravages of alcoholism, lost in a cycle of "wandering abroad" and public intoxication. He had reached a point where jail seemed like a luxury ...
