Discerning the Source: Why Your "Word of Knowledge" Might Not Be From God

Image
Words of Knowledge! Let's Talk Bible!  I remember sitting at my desk, the air in the room suddenly feeling heavy, thick with a presence I couldn't quite name yet. I was writing down a date—March 11th—when suddenly, the room vanished. I wasn't in my chair anymore. I was in a trance, transported somewhere in the spirit realm, seeing things that hadn't happened yet. When I "woke up," my heart was hammering against my ribs like a trapped bird. I started telling everyone I knew: "Something is coming on 3/11! It’s probably a terrorist attack! Fill up your cars, buy groceries, get ready!" I had the supernatural information, but I didn't have the heart of the Father behind it. When March 11th finally rolled around, the world watched in horror as the largest earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear meltdown in the history of Japan unfolded. I had seen the date, but I had misinterpreted the event. I had the "fact," but I lacked the relationship to ...

From the Pit to the Promised Land: How Jesus Healed a Broken Back and a Shattered Soul

Rob Decker - Testimony for Jesus I was scrolling through Instagram recently, just checking in on the community, when I came across a video of a man lifting heavy weights. Now, usually, that's just another day in the fitness world, but there was something different about this brother. As I watched Rob Decker move with strength and purpose, I knew I was looking at a living, breathing miracle. You see, the world—and the doctors—told Rob he would never lift weights again. Maybe you’re struggling with an addiction that feels like a lead weight on your soul, or perhaps you’ve been betrayed by the very people who were supposed to love you. You might be sitting in a "pit" right now, wondering if Jesus e...

Is Repentance a Work? Understanding the Fruit of a Transformed Heart

Image
Is repenting really 'working'? What's up everybody, it's Conrad from ConradRocks.net . I was sitting at my desk the other night, the blue light of the computer screen reflecting off my glasses, watching the notifications "ping" as a poll I had posted began to gain a little bit of traction. I had asked a question that seems to make a lot of people in the church today a little bit leery: "Is repentance a work?" It’s a simple question on the surface, but it’s one that digs deep into the core of how we understand our relationship with Jesus. I watched as the votes trickled in—only about fourteen of them at first. It’s funny how people get cautious when you start talking about "works." We’ve been so conditioned to protect the doctrine of "grace alone" that sometimes we’re afraid to even define what it means to actually follow the Lord. My stepmom was the only one who liked the post initially, but the comments that followed were where ...
