This is Fred. Fred was standing outside of Jerry Lee's handing out these handwritten tracts. I had to get his story. I asked him why he was standing outside the store handing out tracts and he said he can't help but share the gospel. It is like fire shut up in his bones. He said he used to be a gangster in Chicago up until his encounter with Jesus. God "knocked him out" and changed everything. Fred had a radical Encounter With Jesus Christ on December 25th, 1951. He said God 'knocked him out' and told him to get baptized and read his Bible. Fred has read the Bible hundreds of times since then. Fred is over 90 years old. When i was talking to him, he handed out probably 20-30 hand written (photocopied) tracts. Fred takes Jesus to the people. #TeamJesus

Entering the Secret Place  I remember standing in the back of a sanctuary once, watching the lights dim and the fog machine start to puff out little clouds of atmosphere. The band was tight—I mean, they had the professional "shimmer" down to a science. The chords were right, the lyrics were theological enough, and everybody was clapping along. But as I stood there, I felt this strange, heavy grieving in my spirit. It wasn't that the music was bad; it was that the Holy Spirit had actually showed up in the room, but He was being largely ignored. We were deep in a conversation about evangelism—real, boots-on-the-ground evangelism. One of them was talking about the struggle we all face when we’re out there in the "Bible Belt." You know the scene. You approach someone to talk about the radical, life-changing power of Jesus, and before you can even finish your sentence, they put up a hand.
