The Roaring Lion and the Sleeping Saint: Why You Can’t Afford to Get Lazy in Spiritual Warfare

Image
It was late last night, and the house was quiet. Susan was asleep, the cats—were curled up in their usual spots, and I finally closed my eyes after a long day of working . I thought I was in a good place. I’ve been walking with the Lord a long time. I’ve written the books, I’ve done the podcasts, and I’ve seen the demons flee more times than I can count. In my head, I had "arrived" at a certain level of maturity and authority. Then the nightmare hit. This wasn’t just a bad dream born of spicy food; it was a visceral, demonic encounter. In this vision, I was standing with Susan, and this massive entity—not your garden-variety low-level spirit—loomed over us. I did what I always do. I pointed my finger and commanded, "Get out of here in the name of Jesus!" But here’s the thing: it didn’t budge. It just moved around, mocking my comfort. I started quoting the Word, and it was a struggle. I woke up with my heart racing, the weight of the atmosphere still heavy in the r...

How to Silence Your Emotions and Hear the Voice of the Spirit Introduction

Image
It is early morning here, and I am looking out at the world as it begins to wake up. You know that feeling when the house is still and you have a moment to breathe? That is usually when the "God talk" starts for me. But this morning, it was different. Before I could even get into that deep place of prayer, a wave of old guilt tried to wash over me. It was like a movie reel playing in the back of my mind—every mistake, every sharp word I'd ever spoken, and every time I felt like I failed the Lord. If you have been following my journey at ConradRocks.net , you know that I am big on the supernatural life, but let’s be real: sometimes the most "supernatural" thing we have to do is fight the battle between our ears. The carnal mind is a relentless adversary. It uses our emotions—fear, anger, and guilt—as a leash to keep us from the high places God has called us to. We think we are being "spiritual" by beating ourselves up, but really, we are just being em...

Following the Spirit and Not Your Emotions: Mastering the Battle for Your Mind

Image
It was one of those crisp mornings where the air feels just right, and the path ahead seems clear. I was pulling on my walking shoes, ready for my usual trek to Rouses. It is about a twenty-five-minute walk from my place, a route I’ve traversed so many times I could probably do it with my eyes closed. I love that walk. It’s my cathedral. It’s where I get my prayer in, my meditations on the Word, and where I often let the audio Bible wash over me at double speed. My mind was already blocks ahead, scanning the digital circular in my head—thinking about what might be on sale, what we’d have for dinner, and how I’d fit the rest of my tasks into the afternoon. I was, as we often are, "making my day" entirely on my own terms. But just as I reached for the door handle, a still, small voice pierced through my logistics. The Spirit simply said, "Don't forget me." I froze. It wasn’t a shout; it was a gentle but firm tug on my heartstrings. I realized in that moment that...
