FOUR WINDS: A Call to Revival and Obedience

We sold most of our possessions from a four-bedroom home and squeezed into a twenty-nine-foot trailer named the FOUR WINDS. That sounds strange to some people, but there are moments when obedience to God does not fit neatly inside the plan we made for ourselves.

Why We Moved Into the FOUR WINDS Trailer

Why would we do something like that?

Because I believe there is an urgent call for the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and for the church at large, to come out of lukewarmness and get on fire for Jesus. Not a fire of hype. Not a fire of religious activity. I am talking about revival fire: people returning to their first love, praying again, repenting again, walking in the Spirit again, and taking the gospel seriously.

The Urgent Need for Revival Fire in the Church

The church in the book of Acts was not built on convenience. The believers waited on God, received power from the Holy Spirit, prayed with boldness, preached Jesus, and loved one another with a holy fear of God. They expected God to move. Somewhere along the way, much of the church became comfortable with a form of godliness that has little expectation of the power of God.

I am not saying that every church is dead. God always has people who are hungry, faithful, and willing to obey. But I do believe we need to look honestly at our condition. Have we become content with meetings while neglecting prayer? Have we learned how to talk about revival without being willing to change? Do we want God's presence, or do we mainly want God to bless the life we already planned?

Four Winds and Ezekiel 37: Can These Dry Bones Live?

The name of that trailer, FOUR WINDS, became a strong prophetic confirmation to me. It immediately took me to Ezekiel 37. The prophet stood in a valley full of dry bones. The Lord asked him, "Son of man, can these bones live?" Ezekiel did not pretend to have the answer. He said, "O Lord GOD, thou knowest." Then God told him to prophesy.

"Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live" (Ezekiel 37:9). Ezekiel obeyed. The breath came into them, and the dry bones stood up as an exceeding great army.

The Breath of God Can Bring Spiritual Dry Bones Back to Life

That passage has always been a picture of hope for people who feel spiritually dry. God can breathe life into what looks beyond recovery. He can restore prayer. He can restore love for the lost. He can restore bold witness. He can take a scattered people and make them stand together in obedience.

The Four Winds, the Trumpet Sound, and the Gathering of God's People

The four winds also remind me of Jesus' words in Matthew 24:31: "And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." There is a trumpet sound in the Spirit right now. It is a call to wake up, prepare, and rise up as the people of God.

Obedience to God Sometimes Requires Letting Go

When we simplified our lives and moved into that trailer, it was not because we had every detail mapped out. We did it because we wanted to make room to say yes. Sometimes God asks us to release something that has become too important. Possessions are not evil, but they can quietly become an anchor. Security is not evil, but it can become an excuse to avoid obedience.

Every believer will not be called to sell a house or live in a trailer. That is not the point. The question is whether we are willing to lay down whatever competes with the call of God. What is God asking you to release? What prayer have you delayed? What place of comfort has kept you from taking the next step?

Revival Begins in the Heart Before It Reaches a City

Revival begins in the heart before it ever reaches a city. It begins when we stop excusing compromise, seek God in prayer, forgive quickly, hunger for His Word, and obey the leading of the Holy Spirit. We cannot manufacture the breath of God, but we can position ourselves to receive it.

Prayer Awakens the Church to the Heart of God

This is also why prayer matters so much. Prayer is where our hearts are brought back into agreement with the heart of God. It is where we hear His correction, receive His courage, and remember that the harvest belongs to Him. A praying church is not passive. It becomes alert, compassionate, and ready to move when God opens a door.

Team Jesus Must Rise Up With Holiness, Love, and Power

I hear the sound of a trumpet. I believe it is time for Team Jesus to rise up. The world does not need another polished religious performance. It needs believers who know Jesus, walk in holiness, love people deeply, and carry the presence of God into dark places.

These Dry Bones Can Live Again for the Glory of Jesus

Do not look at dry bones and decide the story is over. Do not look at a lukewarm church and conclude that God cannot move again. Prophesy what God says. Pray for the breath of the Spirit. Answer the call in front of you. These dry bones can live again, and they can become an exceeding great army for the glory of Jesus.
